Recession beating tips in London

The recession has hit everyone pretty hard over the last few years and for most people this has meant a tightening of purse strings. Living in London is really expensive, but just because the bankers are in a mess doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t enjoy themselves.
There are a lot of voucher websites out there with deals for loads of high street restaurants and brands. Basically it is even more important for all the big brands to fill their restaurant tables. In the past vouchers and meal deals, used to be …

Baby on Board!

Another quirky aspect of London life are the ‘Baby on Board’ badges which were first tested out in 2005 at International Women’s Day events. Since then they have been introduced in Beijing as “to-be mum” badges, by the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau and also more recently in Tokyo.

London’s finest comic shops

Comic shops can be intimidating places for some people, as they are often lauded over by scary fan boys, movie buffs and geeks. However, London has some fine little comic shops, which each have their own quirky characters and vibes that are worth checking out.

Personally I’m a big fan of comics and try to kid myself that it’s the same as reading a book (which it isn’t). Whether you are after solid mainstream titles like Iron Man and his other (insert name) buddies or want something a little more …

Best Mexican Restaurants in London

I absolutely love Mexican food, something about the fresh meat, massive portions and slightly healthy vibe brought by lettuce and tomatoes really do it for me. Also I love the textures Mexican dishes offer. As my girlfriend will attest, I firmly believe any dish can be made better by covering it with cheese!
As a result of this addiction I have eaten my way through a fair number of burritos since living in London and thought I’d share some of the best places to grab some tacos or party Mexican …
