Bortusk Leer - graffiti gallery

www.bortuskleer.com/
Bortusk Leer is one of those crazy graffiti artists that makes your mind feel a little boggled whenever you spot any of their work out and about in London.
The work is always pretty comical and usually takes the form of childlike drawings and scrawly sketches that are brightly coloured and sometimes a little neon or glow in the dark.
Usually pasted up on newspaper clippings and glued directly onto walls, the work has a carefree light hearted feel when compared to other graffiti artists.
Check out their website for more …

Paul Insect - graffiti gallery

www.paulinsect.com/
Paul Insect is an artist I didn’t know a lot about but when I browsed though these photos I instantly recognised some of the work including the scary looking baby heads which remind me of Dillinger Escape Plan album work and have a very eerie feel.
Also a lot of Paul Insect work features the more recently spotted skulls wearing x-ray specks with sparkles and fireworks spraying out of the head. I have noticed a few of these around East London.
This set also features some modern art which …

Burberry outlet in East London

The Burberry outlet in deepest darkest Hackney isn’t what you would expect when you find the place. Tucked away on an industrial side street this large scale outlet shop is chock full of designed bag totting Japanese tourists and bargain hungry shoppers.
The scale of the shop is quite impressive and larger than the usual outlet park affair. The shop stock pretty much everything Burberry you could wish for from bags and expensive scarves to trademark coats and macs. They also stock reasonably priced men’s polo shirts and t-shirts which …

Candy Coated Canvas at London Miles Gallery

Candy Coated Canvas Exhibition
Candy Coated Canvas is an exhibition of international artists work who were asked to produce work which was “visually extremely colourful and playful, whilst sparking up memories of childhood, sweets, fantasy lands and those naughty but nice pleasures in life.” So kind like the inner workings of Willy Wonka’s mind in art form.
The small intimate gallery setting of the London Miles Gallery in deepest darkest Kensington, has become awash with sickly pink and candy floss colours. All of the artwork is quite crazy and along the lines …

Murder! at the Volupte Lounge - review

On a dowdy mid-week evening we headed down to Volupte Lounge, tucked away in the middle of central London, just off Fleet Street. As soon as you step into the place you can smell decadence, glamour and general fanciness.
Originally burlesque started out as a form of entertainment for the working classes and as a way to ridicule the upper classes. It originates from the US and usually involves lingerie, tassels, striptease and a good ounce of comedy. Volupte Lounge has the perfect amount of all of these things!
Watching a burlesque …

Jack the Ripper Walk - review

We turn up early at the designated meeting point at Tower Hill underground station just as it starts to rain, the busy tube station seems to be churning out unbelievable large amounts of confused tourists, all eagerly reaching for their pack-a-mack rain covers.
Everyone seems to be eyeing each other up nervously under the picturesque backdrop of the Tower of London, waiting for the Jack the Ripper tour to start. Suddenly the numerous umbrella wielding tourists converge on a couple holding Jack the Ripper tour maps and it becomes clear this …
