Graffiti Vans of Whitechapel

All photos are used with permission from Spitalfields Life and the original source can be found here
Over the last few weekends whilst out and about in Whitechapel I have spotted a few of these great vans covered in graffiti. I remember also seeing them quite a lot, down the side streets in Bethnal Green. Mainly halfway through dropping off goods to the market stalls on Bethnal Green road. The vans in Whitechapel seem to roll in packs and are pretty much covered in vibrant graffiti and splashed with nearly indistinguishable …

Bortusk Leer - graffiti gallery

www.bortuskleer.com/
Bortusk Leer is one of those crazy graffiti artists that makes your mind feel a little boggled whenever you spot any of their work out and about in London.
The work is always pretty comical and usually takes the form of childlike drawings and scrawly sketches that are brightly coloured and sometimes a little neon or glow in the dark.
Usually pasted up on newspaper clippings and glued directly onto walls, the work has a carefree light hearted feel when compared to other graffiti artists.
Check out their website for more …

Paul Insect - graffiti gallery

www.paulinsect.com/
Paul Insect is an artist I didn’t know a lot about but when I browsed though these photos I instantly recognised some of the work including the scary looking baby heads which remind me of Dillinger Escape Plan album work and have a very eerie feel.
Also a lot of Paul Insect work features the more recently spotted skulls wearing x-ray specks with sparkles and fireworks spraying out of the head. I have noticed a few of these around East London.
This set also features some modern art which …

Trespassers of the World Unite – Toasters Exhibtion

Nelly Duff recently presented a Toasters Production exhibition called ‘Trespassers of the World Unite‘ in an old wine cellar in Shoreditch. The exhibit showcased fourteen artists work, which has all been produced along the Toaster theme and was chosen to be hosted specifically in Hoxton as it is somewhere that most of the artists have thrown up Toasters in the various formats in the past. Including stickers, paint and stencils.
The Toaster movement was spawned from a kitchen table discussion at a New Years Eve party in Wolverhampton (of all places) …

Bethnal Green - Make Your Mark! Graffiti Project

Recently when walking past Richmix cinema in Bethnal Green, towards the top of Brick Lane I noticed a massive graffiti mural which span across several temporary walls and construction site boards.
I did a little research and found out that the artwork is called the ‘Make Your Mark Graffiti Project’ and has been put together by a company called Top Dog Workshops and a developer called Telford Homes. Telford Homes supplied the hoarding boards and Top Dog Workshops got a group of professional graffiti artists together to teach kids how to …

Trash Monster pictures and interview

Trashmonster is a person on a mission to bring some comedy sesame street style monsters to the urban streets of London (in particular East London). These newspaper filled monsters have all the traits needed for some light hearted comic relief, including googly eyes, giant felt teeth and brightly coloured skin.
These temporary, New York graffiti style monsters and tentacle stickers are often extremely temporary and can be found on the back of loads of signs and lamp posts around London. Or nestling among piles of rubbish on street corners and yards.
Londonerseye …

Southbank graffiti and skating area

Some of these photos were taken by Bobby Parafino and are shown here with his permission and some were taken by Dan Tassell too.
The Southbank area of the riverside underneath the National Theatre is always plastered with graffiti and is a firm favourite hangout for kids on BMX’s and skateboards. Nestled in between the busy coming and goings on the Southbank, the graffiti covered walls always seem to draw a crowd as tourists wing their way towards the riverside view of the London Eye or towards Big Ben.
Often every inch …

Just another Leake Street Gallery

The Cans Festival at Leake Streeet in 2008 has evolved over time and a recent comment on a previous post of Londonerseye.com:

Best graffit spots in London

led me to some more photos of Leake Street, which contained some work I have never seen, even though I have dropped down there a few times to check things out.
Kindly enough Bobby Parafino, Bobby Parafino who took these photos has let me make another Leake Street gallery here, so enjoy!
I particularly like the massive amount of stencils on display here and a lot of …
