Alpine Lager bears no resemblance to rubbish like Carling or Fosters, and closely follows the style brewed by Ayinger, one of the best Bavarian brewers. It's a shame some ale drinkers (and I am an enthusiastic ale drinker) consider all lager as rubbish - some of the best pints in the world are lagers, e.g. schwarzbier, most stuff from Bamberg etc. Open your mind! I was born in Hacknay hospital, the same as Ray Winstone! Knew Marc Bolan , used to meet him at the dances that we used to go too. She was effectively selling the same bottle twice to different customers. Ask for the bottle - she was leaving it by the till. Stick to the beer - watch out for the tonic scam!! Also Steve is exactly what's gone wrong with Shoreditch in the last 5 years or so and why it's lost the edge a bit. If those are your priorities maybe you shouldn't live there in the first place, Steve-o. You should pick an area you like for what it is, not move there then try to change it. I am 27. Great article. It has a very spacious outdoor area on the northern bank of the Thames secluded from the buzz of London. Sadly, its in the shade in the evenings...but I guess it gets some excellent morning sunshine there...not sure I have it in me to try that out!
