London Tattoo Convention

5 July 2009 No Comment Read other posts by luke

The London Tattoo Convention will take place in late September of this year and will be the fifth year in the events history. Usually located at the Truman Brewery in East London the convention will be moving to the Tobacco Dock close to Tower Bridge.

During 2008 the convention attracted over twenty thousand visitors and has been steadily growing as a popular international event for the past few years. Hopefully the larger the event gets and more press coverage it receives the more famous and mainstream it becomes, which will encourage more people to head along.

The events and artist line-up for the 2009 convention includes literally hundreds of tattoo artists from around the globe including Mo Coppoletta, Davide Hernandez, Henning Jorgensen and the Frith Street Tattoo artists to mention just a few. The artists represent every country imaginable including the UK, US, Sweden Japan and Spain.

Also events for the convention include appearances from the Suicide Girls and Betty Lipstick. The Suicide Girls always put on a good show at events and unsurprisingly the mix of ladies, naked skin and tattoos always draws a large crowd so turn up extra early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets cost 20 pound a day or 50 pound for a weekend pass which isn’t a bad deal if you are thinking or getting more ink or want to check out loads of artwork in one go. Conventions give a good chance to do some serious research and chat to artists about pieces and get general advice from the people in the know.

The event is open twelve till two on Friday and Saturday and twelve till half seven on Sunday. Tickets can be booked from the website and more information about the event can be found there too.
