Hi!

The only I have to say is avoid London School of Photography (LPS) unless you enjoy RUDE tutors that are only interested in your wallet...

Very unprofessional staff that actually YELL at the clients...

Other very good schools that care about their clients like photographycourselondon.com :)

Do not be disheartened - there are good courses out there, short and longer-term to get you to a semi-professional or even professional standard. Why not check out www.focushubcourses.com and have a look at the wide variety of courses we offer - our testimonials speak for themselves.

Thanks!

Just came across your article. I attended few courses and just wanted to leave comments on these courses:

I attended a studio lighting course for beginners with Photofusion (www.photofusion.org) and I have to say that digital camera for this course is irrelevant. They do not allow you to use your digital camera, you can only shoot on their medium format film / Polaroid camera and the photographs are being mailed you couple of weeks after the course. I found this to be a bit frustrating. Course fee about £125 one day

I also attended the digital beginners course with London School of Photography (www.londonschoolofphotography.co.uk), not bad but I think (in my opinion) there was too much info provided for a beginner course, course structure cluttered and the tutor (I won't give names) not really great. Course fee was about £300 for 2 days.

I also attended a digital course for beginners (group of 10) with redclouds, honestly, poor course materials (couple of printed out pages) and the information provided not really accurate (lots of inaccurate/incomplete technical syllabuses). Course fee about £280 2 days

I also attended a digital course for beginners (a 1:1) with Photoion Photography (www.londondigitalphotographycourses.co.uk) which seems to be new on the market, so the take-up is not great. But I quite liked the structure, of the course, the materials provided (good quality), tutor very passionate, dedicated. One interested thing is that the tutor is keen to follow your after-course photographic evolution which I found very interesting. Course fee about £300 for 2 days (1:1)

I hope this helps.

I will keep attending courses probably will move now on the next (intermediate level) maybe some fashion, architecture and portrait photography and l will come with my findings soon.
