I had noticed this little gem a couple of times before dropping in for breakfast one Saturday morning. Located a short walk away from Bethnal Green tube station, this is a perfect spot for a healthy Saturday morning breakfast.

A nice alternative to the regular fry-up, these vegetarian dishes are really tasty and can make a pleasant break from the usual sausage and eggs stodgy filled affair. I’m quite an avid meat eater but still really enjoyed the breakfast platter of tomatoes and basil sauce, potatoes and mushrooms served with vegetarian tofu sausages.

The Wild Cherry café also provides some pretty tasty American style pancakes with maple syrup, which when they arrive seemed quite a small portion. However, after eagerly tucking into them I was happy to find out that they were quite filling and pretty good - especially with maple syrup sloshed all over them. The pancakes are also available with various fruit toppings and cream.

As the café is part of the London Buddhist Centre, the staff are really friendly and the café provides a relaxing hangout and atmosphere for a weekend morning.

Sometimes living in London can be pretty stressful and fast paced, so this is a great place to take some time out and chillax. The surrounding shops and village aspect of this part of Bethnal Green is particularly nice and can be a great place to laze around by visiting the local pubs and bookshops along the way to victoria park.
